    lakeside 40th birthday party

Hope you all enjoyed the long holiday weekend! Greg and I spent time with friends, picked up fresh figs & tomatoes at the farmers market, grilled hot dogs, went on a couple long walks & watched "Midnight in Paris" (really cute movie, by the way). Great weekend!

One of my wonderful clients, Jenny, spent the 4th of July hosting a lakeside birthday party to celebrate her husband's 40th birthday. She put together an incredible event - from the decorations to the food - inspired by the Boat Oars Party Invitation I designed for the party. I told Jenny I would love to see photos from the party and she did not disappoint!

The invitation suite included a save the date (sent via email), invitation & rsvp postcard. I always say that an invitation sets the tone for a party, and this design was the perfect prelude to the charming lakeside celebration.

I created a custom rubber stamp with the monogramed boat oars which Jenny then used to decorate tags & signs at the party and had several large sheets of cardstock printed with the plaid pattern to use on the signs as well. It is so fun for me to see how clients tie the invitation design into party decor, and Jenny really outdid herself! The banners! The food! That cake! The wooden-ice-cream-spoons-turned-boat-oars tied to the flowers arrangements! Every detail was absolutely adorable.

Such a fun project! Even though Jenny lives out of state, we were able to meet in person recently and have already worked together on another great (and very different) project. The hostess is a very talented interior designer (which is probably why all the decorations are so cute). Thanks so much for sharing the photos, Jenny! It looks like your husband, friends & family were treated to the perfect 4th of July :)

What a classic way to turn 40. And is that the birthday cake with the flags?!
