    a sweet 1st birthday

Another client of mine was kind enough to share photos a recent party . . . a lollipop-themed 1st birthday party! The birthday girl's parents hosted a casual backyard gathering to celebrate the occasion. Using my Oh, Lolly Lollipop Invitations as inspiration, Campbell's mom put together adorable favors, desserts & one enormous lollipop birthday cake!

Take a look at this cake! Amy made it with a combo of cool whip (so it wouldn't be so rich) and buttercream. I'm not quite sure how she made the multi-colored icing to look so much like a real lollipop but am completely impressed!

Since this was Campbell's first sugar of any kind, her parents weren't sure what she would think of the cake. Amy said she was pretty dainty at first - poking at the icing with only one finger. I think it looks like she got the hang of it by the end.

Amy was so thoughtful to send me these pictures and even surprised me with a few lollipops in the mail.

Thank you, Amy, for showing us a glimpse at Campbell's 1st birthday party! You have an adorable little girl, and I am so happy to have played a small part in her big day.

You all can see more photos from the party on Amy & Aaron's family blog. All this talk of lollipops and cake now has me seriously craving something sweet!!
