    happy 4th of july!

I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing & fun holiday weekend! Greg and I are staying home without any big plans but I am still going to try (last minute) to make this weekend a festive one. My absolute favorite 4th of July holidays were as a kid. My dad was an Army officer, and there is just nothing like celebrating Independence Day on an Army base. Parades, military uniforms, flags, cook outs . . . just incredibly patriotic. Although we don't fly a flag every day, we are fortunate to have a great local Rotary Club that puts out flags for holidays.

our wreath (I love that its metal)

and a very cute arrangement made by my mom to celebrate my Southern Living "Stars & Stripes" feature

this was such a good gift - the plant is already several weeks old. flower plant (kolanchoe) + striped pail + stars!

    Enjoy your weekend!
