lovely letterpress stationery suite
April 26, 2011 Hi, friends! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. My parents drove down from Dallas to spend Easter weekend with Greg and me, and we had a wonderful time! I never managed to pull out my camera, so no photos to share. I wish I had because my mom finally used the popover pan she bought a couple years ago and made the most perfect golden popovers with strawberry butter for Easter dinner. Yum.
More importantly, since April showers bring May flowers (although not the case here in Texas this year), I thought this would be a great time to post some pictures of a custom stationery project I recently wrapped up. My lovely client asked for an elegant yet whimsical design that incorporated her initial, some sort of floral detail, a feminine font, and a bright color palette of orange and blue. The end result is a stylish, simple stationery suite . . . one of my absolute favorite designs!

The flat note cards were letterpress printed with two inks on Crane's Lettra Pearl White cardstock & the envelopes custom lined with a bright orange solid paper from French Paper Company, a family-owned mill in Michigan. The back flap of the envelope features a coordinating return address letterpress printed in blue.

After many design iterations, I drew the floral detail by hand and paired it with a script "B" to create a truly one-of-a-kind monogram.

Absolutely lovely, if I do say so myself.
